Summer Chic

Finals are finished, summer has arrived and all in life is well and content.
What’s on your summer schedule?

Well for me its back to work, but before that is my trip to Europe!
I am beyond excited, this will be my fourth trip traveling abroad and it’s an absolute joy. On the agenda are Italy, Prague and (drum role please…) Paris!
It has always been a dream of mine to go to Paris and my dream is unfolding before my eyes ~ There are not enough words in Webster to describe my excitement.

Wish everyone the best in their week,
P.S. it’s my birthday on Tuesday, turning 20!

Portland Adventure

Finals are just around the corner. With the consumption of studying surrounding me I look back at my adventure in Portland just a few weeks ago.  Donuts and coffee, roaming the street markets and enjoying the beautiful city was all I was thinking about. Such simple times... ;)
Well cram time has started and my mind needs to stop straying and focus!

Wish me luck,
MRB

Bonjour Tristesse

Book Summary

Endearing, self-absorbed, seventeen-year-old Cécile is the very essence of untroubled amorality. Freed from the stifling constraints of boarding school, she joins her father—a handsome, still-young widower with a wandering eye—for a carefree, two-month summer vacation in a beautiful villa outside of Paris with his latest mistress, Elsa. Cécile cherishes the free-spirited moments she and her father share, while plotting her own sexual adventures with a "tall and almost beautiful" law student. But the arrival of her late mother's best friend, Anne, intrudes upon a young girl's pleasures. And when a relationship begins to develop between the adults, Cécile and her lover set in motion a plan to keep them apart...with tragic, unexpected consequences.
The internationally beloved story of a precocious teenager's attempts to understand and control the world around her, Françoise Sagan's Bonjour Tristesse is a beautifully composed, wonderfully ambiguous celebration of sexual liberation, at once sympathetic and powerfully unsparing.

While traveling through Portland a few weeks ago I was  able to stop by my favorite bookstore, Powell's. Rummaging through the books this one stood out to me as it looked like a fun read. This book is really well written, and just a quick and easy read. The diction is also very strong which always makes the book more interesting~ as odd as that sounds.
I defiantly recommend this book for all to read!

Hope your week is going well!

Sunday Matinée

For christmas my sister got us tickets to see Book of Mormon at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood. We had great seats at the matinee showing and dang was it hilarious! A lot more provocative then I thought it would be... Overall the show was fantastic and had me constantly laughing.

Best of luck in your week,

Home for the weekend

Happy Tuesday.

This last week I decided to go home for the weekend. Home for me is in Ventura, California- a beautiful little beach town. Got in on Friday afternoon and was surprised with a trip to the Griffith Observatory which was amazing! Spent the rest of the weekend putting around town seeing some old friends and overall having a great time.

Here are some pictures I took at the beach 5 minutes away from my house during sunset... Enjoy!

Now back to school and on the homework grind, wish everyone the best of luck in their week.
