Portland Adventure

Finals are just around the corner. With the consumption of studying surrounding me I look back at my adventure in Portland just a few weeks ago.  Donuts and coffee, roaming the street markets and enjoying the beautiful city was all I was thinking about. Such simple times... ;)
Well cram time has started and my mind needs to stop straying and focus!

Wish me luck,
MRB

Roses are... White

Like I’ve stated many times before... I’m new to the blogging world and for myself, the thing I struggle with the most, is what to say. I don't like to admit that I’m not a very talented writer and more times then Id like to say, I hit writers block. So what to say to the world of bloggers? I don't really have an answer. All I have for now is have a good week, stay positive and be thankful for the life that surrounds you.

Bonjour Tristesse

Book Summary

Endearing, self-absorbed, seventeen-year-old Cécile is the very essence of untroubled amorality. Freed from the stifling constraints of boarding school, she joins her father—a handsome, still-young widower with a wandering eye—for a carefree, two-month summer vacation in a beautiful villa outside of Paris with his latest mistress, Elsa. Cécile cherishes the free-spirited moments she and her father share, while plotting her own sexual adventures with a "tall and almost beautiful" law student. But the arrival of her late mother's best friend, Anne, intrudes upon a young girl's pleasures. And when a relationship begins to develop between the adults, Cécile and her lover set in motion a plan to keep them apart...with tragic, unexpected consequences.
The internationally beloved story of a precocious teenager's attempts to understand and control the world around her, Françoise Sagan's Bonjour Tristesse is a beautifully composed, wonderfully ambiguous celebration of sexual liberation, at once sympathetic and powerfully unsparing.

While traveling through Portland a few weeks ago I was  able to stop by my favorite bookstore, Powell's. Rummaging through the books this one stood out to me as it looked like a fun read. This book is really well written, and just a quick and easy read. The diction is also very strong which always makes the book more interesting~ as odd as that sounds.
I defiantly recommend this book for all to read!

Hope your week is going well!

Little Rebel

As I discover my style I become more open to trying new things. I have a very simple way of dressing and I like a clean look. I found these jeans on sale at Nordstrom Rack and thought I'd give them a whirl. I had difficulties paring shoes with them but this is the look I came up with.
What are some of your suggestions of shoe parings with this outfit? I would love all opinions!

Sincerely,

MRB

A Girl's Best Friend

Some may say that a dog is a man's best friend, but the reality is dog's make everyones heart glow with love. What a better companion then a dog ~ loyal, trustworthy, somewhat selfless...
Another beautiful weekend here in California, I do hope it cools down just a little bit though.

I wish everyone the best of week,

The 50 Shades... of Women

There has been much discussion in the late years about how women are becoming the superiors. Why is this? Some say that women are bound to take over the world. What this idea is being built on is how the minds of men and women differ. Men think very black and white and are unable to see further possibilities and outcomes. Women on the other hand think in the gray, considering all the possibilities and outcomes. I wouldn't call myself an extreme feminist in the sense that I think women are superior to men, I just bring this up as food for thought.

What are your thoughts?

Spring Break... in Washington!

Instead of spending Spring Break in Mexico like most college students, I decided to spend mine in rainy Washington with my family. While the rain did pour the sun shinned as well -- it was beautiful.
During my few day stay I managed to make it to Downtown Portland, Oregon... which is awesome if you have never been. Powell's (the worlds best book store) is a must if your down there!! And... you cant forget about Nordstrom!
The highlight of my trip had to be dinner at Natural Selection; a quaint restaurant in Portland. The food was all gluten free and vegan as well as delicious! As you receive five star treatment from the staff, you are also able to watch the chiefs work their magic! It was an absolute amazing experience.

Best Wishes,
MRB
